New help for GLBT domestic violence victims

Bridges to Safety opened on July 14th in Ramsey County, a full service center for victims of domestic violence and their families. OutFront Minnesota's Anti-Violence staff played an integral part in the development of the center to ensure that services included the GLBT community. This is the first such center in Ramsey County, the culmination of four years of work. Members of the GLBT community can call Bridges to Safety and ask for a GLBT advocate. They may also call OutFront Minnesota's Anti-Violence Program at ext. 210 to arrange an appointment with one of our staff advocates who will meet them at the center.

The opening of Bridges to Safety meets a rising need for services in Ramsey County. Between one in three and one in four relationships will experience some form of domestic violence - and the same rates apply to the GLBT community.
