OutFront Minnesota, along with local law firm Halunen & Associates,
has filed an appeal with the
Minnesota
Court of Appeals asking the court to overturn a lower court ruling
in the case of a Rochester lesbian couple denied a family membership at
the
Rochester Athletic Club. In November 2007 an Olmsted County judge
ruled in favor of the club in a lawsuit in which the couple claimed the
club violated the provisions of the
Minnesota Human Rights Act prohibiting discrimination
in public accommodations and business contracts.
The next step in the process is oral arguments before the court of
appeals, which have yet to be scheduled.
