What a great time had by all! An estimated crowd of 300 supporters of
gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender rights gathered at
Pi Bar
and Restaurant in Minneapolis for the first-ever televised
presidential debate that focused exclusively on issues relevant to the
GLBT community. OutFront Minnesota was proud to co-sponsor this event,
which brought people to a single gathering space for political talk
and social interaction. Bloggers came to the event and blogged
live while the event was going on, keeping the Internet world plugged
in. See photo gallery
OutFront Minnesota is known for its organizing acumen and the
presidential debate viewing party was a perfect place where people could
be reminded that they are part of a large group, pushing and advocating
for the advancement of GLBT rights in our state. The event also
provided an opportunity for participants to talk about the presidential
candidates' views as expressed during the debate and helped build a body
of knowledge about the political choices we'll have in 2008.
While many more presidential debates are sure to come, the event at
Pi, co-sponsored by OutFront Minnesota, will always be a night to
remember!
