Bills that would have enhanced the lives of GLBT people in Minnesota
did not become law, due to the governor's vetoes and threat of veto.
While this is extremely disappointing, the fight is not over. We can
still do proactive work in our communities, schools, places of worship
and elsewhere to tell people we are here and deserve equal treatment
under the law.

original version and it is not yet known if the changed bill
will become law.

State Employee Domestic Partners Bill
This bill is no longer being considered for the 2007 session. On
May 3rd, a House-Senate conference committee removed this
provision from an omnibus budget bill and decided to study the
cost impact of providing health benefits to "significant
individuals" in the same household. OutFront Minnesota is
disappointed by this vote, but understands the committee's
desire to avoid a gubernatorial veto over the issue of domestic
